Thanks

Thanks for the welcome.Bear22. I'm rather worried at the moment as I had to take Mollie back to the vets yesterday and they now think it's more than a bladder infection. I'm waiting for her blood and urine results to see what they reveal. She's even gone off her food, which for a Lab is almost unheard of and indicates just how poorly she must be feeling.

I will know more after I have spoken to the vet tonight.

Yikes. I know that feeling of uncertainty and it really sucks. I hope everything works out okay, keep us posted!

Just spoken to the vet and he says that her calcium levels are not as high as he feared so, hopefully, it rules out cancer. He says he will ring me early in the morning when he's had chance to assess all the other results. Says that at the moment, it looks as if she might have to be put on a drip.

On the upside, he said try her with cat food to see if it will tempt her appetite. I bought her some chicken in gravy and she loved it. A definite improvement.

Mollie has been on a drip at the vets all day. She has come home for the night but has to go back onto the drip tomorrow. Still no definite diagnosis only that the condition is related to the kidneys. She's off her food altogether now, which is quite worrying.

Good news! Mollie is still on the drip and has to remain so for a further two days, but our vet has been in touch with the National Animal Trust who have assessed all her test results and diagnosed a severe infection. She has to remain on antibiotics for three weeks but the prognosis is a lot brighter than first thought.
